Hannah has been immensely helpful in supporting my dog's arthritis. Her guidance and resources have become part of my puppy training programme so that we can prevent unnecessary injuries from as early as possible.

I would use this service in a heartbeat. Knowing Hannah from various webinars it is obvious how dedicated, knowledgeable, & empathetic she would be. Her whole life is built around being a Vet & doing everything in her power to help dogs live well & thrive. Who doesn't want that for their dog. She is always looking forwards to the next scientific development & making sure she is current & up to date. Priceless.

Thank you so much to Dr Hannah Capon and your wonderful team at The Pain Vet and CAM. Your pain management service with The Pain Vet is so comprehensive, you can tell how much time, consideration, expertise and care goes into every consult. And it opens your eyes into how many options there are for a dog living with arthritis. I will be forever grateful for all of the hard work you put into arthritis awareness. The knowledge and passion you have for improving the lives of dogs living with arthritis is nothing short of inspiring. I wholeheartedly trust you with all of my dogs, and the tools, information, advice, and education you provided for my previous dog Max undoubtably made such a significant difference to his life. He was able to live a great life, despite having arthritis, and that was only made possible by the education and support you provided. Thank you for making such a huge difference to every single dog that is living a better life as a result of CAM.

This is an exceptional service, there are none like it. Hannah's support for my client's dogs has been so invaluable in a world where few vets have the capacity to carry the loads of all the little extra things that dogs and their caregivers need when dealing with complex medical issues. I have now worked with Dr Hannah on around 5 cases and will keep sending her more!

I love having this service to refer my clients to! Having a vet professional that gathers all the information before the consult, including videos, vet history and owner concerns, makes owners feel they are being listened to and heard. Not a rushed 10 minute consult, so owners actually have time to voice their concerns. A much needed service in the veterinary world!

Faced with a beloved dog in pain I turned to Hannah at CAM. She talked me through all the things I needed to do at home to make it safe and comfortable. We then discussed his medication and what needed tweaking and how physio, laser and hydro would help heal the arthritis flare up he was experiencing. I am pleased to say he is now in a much better condition than he was.

Hannah's work and the CAM site have been invaluable in helping me think about managing my dog's arthritis - from simple changes in the house to having informed conversations with my vet. Hannah has worked hard - for free - to raise awareness of this common disease. The onsite resources and advice are incredible.

Highly Recommended service. I cannot thank “The Pain Vet” team enough for supporting our dogs and in turn the entire family in supporting our dogs. This is a 1st Class bespoke service that encompasses everything from your home to your family and provides the BEST specialist care to optimise the wellbeing of our animals. When one of my boys (dog) was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis, my world fell apart. I cried solidly, everyday for 3 months. The weight and the burden of knowing the right thing to do at the right time for my boy weighed heavy and I thought I’d never find my peace or sanity in my life with him again, worrying constantly about his pain, health and happiness. There is a very very specialist team of vets and nurses. They WILL ALWAYS be my go to because you cannot get care, compassion, experience, expertise so tailored to your life & beloved pets anywhere like you can with “The Pain Vet”. The detail from start to finish it EXCELLENT, they gave me hope, peace and calmed my chaos just relaying their knowledge and having their input I knew my dogs (not just my boy) was in expert hands that cared. My primary care vet is amazing and gorgeous. HOWEVER “”The Pain Vet” appointments bring a sprinkling of diamonds that are so tailored and specific to the issue, your dog, you personally and you’ve got their undivided attention in a speciality that is considered by primary care but with “The Pain Vet” it opens up a whole new dimension and they support your own vets. They have the most up to date information and treatment choices from global sources, all science backed wrapped in compassion beyond measure. They are a unique service. Pain can be so complex, overlooked and misunderstood. The Pain Vet team, are so delightfully gorgeous and humble that they unpicked all the complexity and brought us an easy to follow plan, for the present and future. I trust my dogs with no one else when it comes to pain. The Pain Vet and the team will ALWAYS be our go to, without hesitation. I did hesitate initially wondering what else could they bring, after all my own vet is brilliant? Well, they brought more to the table than I could have ever imagined. Returned a joy I thought I’d lost, gave us a robust compassionate plan to ensure my boy and his doggie family can have a bright fulfilled and happy future. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED- geniuses all of you THANK YOU

WHAT'S INCLUDED

A comprehensive review of your dog’s clinical history, your observations and concerns collected through CAM questionnaires, analysis of submitted videos and photos, access to the Canine Arthritis Essentials course, online access to a veterinary professional, access to the CAM Member Zone for a year, and synopsis reports for you and your vet, plus further resources.

    • Greater understanding of chronic pain and canine osteoarthritis so you will feel better equipped to pursue further investigations and implement appropriate management plans with the support of your own vet.
    • Discussion and objective use of the clinical signs your dog presents encouraging accurate diagnosis, appropriate intervention selection, treatment ambitions and ability to long term monitor.
    • Education and guidance surrounding the confusing and forever changing multimodal approach to chronic pain management. This will include pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical pain relieving and disease modifying interventions, as well as often overlooked essential strategies such as lifestyle, weight control, nutrition and exercise.

WHAT OUR SERVICE DOES NOT OFFER
  • Emergency advisory services. If a case is considered an emergency, we would encourage you to contact your established veterinary practice/veterinary services provider.
  • A 24/7 emergency consultation service. The Pain Vet is a “Limited Service Provider” under RCVS regulations and can only be booked via the buttons on this page.
  • Diagnostic or prescription services. We work with your established veterinary care provider who are responsible for further investigations and prescribing appropriate medications.
  • A consultation service as a replacement for your current veterinary care provider. You will remain under the care of your established veterinary care provider and CAM will communicate discussions and conclusions with them.
  • The Pain Vet service provides support regarding osteoarthritis and chronic pain management only and will suggest further consultations with your established practice regarding other concerning topics.

In-person consultations

Face-to-face consultations are available at our Somerset location, England.
Prices may differ from online consultations. Please see the booking page for current rates.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ

The Pain Vet service is NOT a replacement for the service provided by your veterinary practice. We work with your veterinary practice, offering more time, and less distraction, from which to identify the best care plan for your dog which your veterinary practice can then continue.
We focus our attention solely on arthritis and chronic pain management.
